MY IDEAL PARTNER

My ideal partner should be between 17 and 25 (in exception of Johnny Depp). It would be better if he lives near me, in Catalunya.

I prefer if he's tall, with rather long hair and also broad-shouldered. I really love men who have a stubble! I definetely want someone who takes care of himself.

On the other hand, he has to love travel and he has also to love rollercoasters! A part from that, cinema is too important for me. Consequently, I want somebody who likes it! By the way, he mustn't be extremely religious! I'm rather nervous, so I need someone who can calm myself. Finally, I have to say I definetely hate routine... for this reason I want a man who can make me feel that everyday is different.
I love my independence, so in consequence I can't be with somebody who always wants to control me. He mustn't be possessive or extremely jealous! I'm very fond of my friends and I don't want to go away from them.

In conclusion, I hardly ever would ask someone out only for his body. For me, the most important thing is the inner part and his actions.

When I was writing it I was thinking of a particular person. Here you are a photo of him :)

Isn't he cute? Joke, I was thinking of another person ;)
Here you are:

He's my ideal partner, Pau :)

QUADRUPLET BOYS BORN IN BRISTOL ON "LEAP DAY"

"A woman in Bristol has given birth to quadruplets, who were all born on "leap day", 11 weeks early. Emma Robbins gave birth to four boys by Caesarean section within six minutes of each other on Wednesday night at St Michael's maternity hospital. Zachary, Rueben, Joshua and Samuel are all said to be doing well. All four were conceived naturally, and two of the babies are identical twins.

A consultant said it was "exceedingly rare" for quadruplets to be conceived naturally. Mrs Robbins said she was "surprised" when a scan showed she was pregnant with quads. The babies were born after 29 weeks and one day of pregnancy, on 29 February."

Mrs. Robins

Can you imagine to give birth to quadruplets? It must be horrible! Give birth scares me a lot, so I can't think about the idea of a quadruplet (in particular if they are conceived naturally!!) On the other hand, it seems incredible they were born on 29 february. It has been a big coincidence! Moreover, two of them are twins.... it's all too strange.

But babies are ok, and that's the most important. In my opinion they will be very suprised when they discover how and when they were born! I think their mum won't want to have more babies...

ALICE IN WONDERLAND PARTY AT THE WHITE HOUSE

An apparently lavish Alice in Wonderland party at the White House has been criticised in a new book. The 2009 event saw the State Dining Room redecorated by film director Tim Burton, and was attended by Johnny Depp, President Obama and his wife. It was described by New York Times correspondent Jodi Kantor in her book, The Obamas.

After excerpts from the book were published, Britain's Telegraph newspaper described the Alice In Wonderland event as "an embarrassment for a White House that seems not to have heard of the age of austerity". But a White House official said the party was "no secret".

The Telegraph's Alex Spillius wrote: "Depp greeted guests in the costume he had worn in a film version of the Lewis Carroll story released around the same time by (Tim) Burton - the film's director - who was given carte blanche to transform the state dining room into a Mad Hatter's tea party."

In Kantor's book, The Obamas, she states: "White House officials were so nervous about how a splashy, Hollywood-esque party would look to jobless Americans or their representatives in Congress, who would soon vote on health care, that the event was not discussed publicly and Burton and Depp's contributions went unacknowledged."

But White House spokesman Eric Shultz denied Kantor's version of events.
"This was an event for local school children from the Washington DC area and for hundreds of military families. "If we wanted this event to be a secret, we probably wouldn't have invited the press corps to cover it, release photos of it to Flickr, or post a video from it on the White House website," he said in a statement released to Politico, a political news website.

I don't know what happens with humanity. What's wrong about celebrate a Wonderland's party in the White House? Yes, I know it's the White House, so it's so important and formal, bla bla bla. It was an event for local children! What do they want? A formal and BORING party? I'm so glad of Burton and Johnny's participation. Really, it had to be awesome, what a wonderful idea! I would give anything because this has happened to me! My home decorated as Alice in Wonderland's movie... mmmm... :) (including Tim and Johnny)

In my opinion, there are too many bored people in the world. They don't accept imagination and creativity... and it's so sad. What's wrong about that? Creativity makes the world better. It gives us hope, hapiness,... it makes us evolute. And not only to us but the world. I think all this people who criticizes people who's different of them are jealous. Simply. On the other hand, they don't believe in themselves, they think they can't achieve their dreams... and they only want to make believe this to the other people.
I wonder why they don't just shut up. If they are a failures it's not our problem... we could help them to start believing in themselves, but simply they don't let us.

To be extremely proud it's so bad.

In conclusion, I love the idea of the White House. It had to be an incredible party with the best company. Children had to enjoy a lot! In conclusion, I love the idea of the White House. It had to be an incredible party with the best company. Children had to enjoy a lot! We have to be creatives... we don't have to listen to that kind of people! Just... live our lifes with hapiness :)

CARNIVAL 2012

This Carnival was very improvised. I decided the costume three days before... the result was: MRS. LOVETT! of Sweeney Todd's movie :)

I was talking on Messenger with my friend Pau, and I started to say some possible costumes. Finally, we decided that Sweeney Todd and Mrs.Lovett were the more feasible costumes... :) Here you are the result:

Pau and me as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett

We are not professionals, so in my opinion the costumes were incredible.

Pau was very sexy... :) I painted his hair with white spray... it was funny! Alexandra and Natàlia Varela used a lot of makeup for his face... and for mine too. Thank you girls!

We used false blood too, of course ;)

First night we went to Sant Pere Pescador, my town. During the afternoon, we listened to the music in Varela's house and afterwards we started to makeup and dress ourselves. Finally, we went to the party. We danced (and drank) a lot. I've never used a corset before and sometimes I couldn't breath!

We met with a lot of people who said that the costumes were awesome :) we were so proud! Guillermo met us and he ask for a photo :)

Natàlia Varela was dressed as a hippie, Fani as a peasant and Alexandra... well, I don't know. She was saying she was a person without crisis... here you are a photo to see her smile:

When the party finished we went to a flat to sleep.

But Carnival didn't stop there... next weekend we went to Castelló, but not as Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett. Pau didn't dress up, and I was dressed up as... George Harrison! February 25th was his birthday and I decided to honor him... I bought a Beatles wig, round glasses, I painted a white t-shirt.. and voilà! Here you are a photo of the t-shirt and another one of me with wig...

I really love this hair *-*

Finally, we went to "sleep" at Alexandra's house. It was an incredible weekend... :)

NOW I'M RESPONSIBLE: 18 YEARS OLD. (joke)

Last February 4th was my birthday. Now I'm 18 years old! It's difficult to believe... because I'm the same irresponsible, immature and childish girl.  I think I have Peter Pan's syndrome!

Even though it was a really cold day, it was incredible. The day started with the visit of one of my best friends Víctor. He came from Barcelona only to celebrate my birthday.. I love him a lot :) After have lunch with my family (my grandparents and my uncle went too! I was so happy), we started to prepare the house for the party. A lot of drink and food, wii games,...

It was a great day for me because I met with friends who I didn't saw since ages, as Maire, Júlia, Víctor, my cousin Jean... Júlia is studying pastries and she brought me a delicious cake!

After drink and eat we saw the three movies that Víctor and I recorded time ago. We love cinema and everytime he came to Sant Pere, we record some shortmovie... a real funny shortmovies! Afterwards we started to play with the wii games: Just Dance. It was so funny... People started to dance, to twist and shout a lot! We were very tired....

They bought me some gifts. Some wonderful gifts! They bought me a George Harrison's CD, the newest Professor's Layton game for Nintendo DS, the movie Across The Universe and a nice keychain of a yellow submarine! :D They gave me also a dedicated letter with a Cheshire Cat drawing (Meriem drew it!)

Finally, I ordered some pizzas. We were telling jokes... Víctor is the best comediant! We went to sleep in a particular flat. It was good because we didn't have neighbours! We drank and played a lot (to trivial and other funny games). That night Víctor and me almost died... because of a laughing attack! Really, I have never laughed like this before... I couldn't breath and I think Víctor neither could! I have only met with Víctor a few times... but we're always talking through Internet and we know each other very well. We are similar in so many ways and in this moment I knew what to say to make him laugh (they were only short stupid quotes!). It worked! :)

Finally, we started to fall asleep. Next day, Víctor, Jean and me went to have lunch in my grandparents house. Oh my God, we ate a lot! (especially Víctor!!!). My grandmother cooks a lot of food and she always wants you to eat a lot... In the afternoon we accompanied Víctor, Aina and Estel to the train station. It was an incredible weekend... :)

 Across the Universe! Great movie...

Weee all liveee in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine,...

 Alexandra and Estel dancing

 I really love him :)

Laila and Maire dancing!

PAU IS A PAST, BUT HE'S ALSO A PRESENT AND A FUTURE.

Friendship is very important. I'm pretty shy and it's too difficult for me to think about a person as a friend. I have a lot of companions, but there are few people who I consider as a real friend. One of them is Pau. I have already talked about him in this blog, I think . But some weeks ago I wrote him a little story which talks about him. I thought it would be great if I translate it in English! :)

"Pau is water. He's a drop of Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon... of everywhere. Pau is a past, but he's also a present and a future. He's a summer night, a whisper of winter, a smile of spring and a hug of autumn. He's every single day of the year and even so I need him more and more. He's part of the universe, but when I look him in the eyes I think universe is part of him.

A star of a big constellation decided to settle down beside his left eye. She's called Van Gogh because thanks to her, Pau's face let us to remember to The Starry Night. It transmits armony and in the same time, mistery. But nothing of this can compare with the world which's hiding behind his eyes. For this reason the star decided to leave behind the grandeur of the Solar System. When I stare at him, I realise I need him every single day of my life and also it lets me to travel to places where I have never been before. It's a portal which connects the past that we have lived and the future that we'll live. It's a big burrow which lets me forget the present and also it immerses me in the called Wonderland, where everything is possible.

I love to hear his paced breathing when I lean my head on his chest. I love when he dedicates me one of his smiles. I know him since always, but I'm discovering him yet. I'm sure there are a lot of things to know about him, but I have the rest of my life to find out...

Externally, he seems quiet. He has an air of raccoon which defines him at the perfection. In contrary, my humour is always changing and I can't hide it. I'm always changing my mind, but in Pau I find the balance that I need. When I'm with him it seems that everything can be solved. Since always he has been part of my world and he has been always my best friend. This year I'm discovering him a little more, but I hope this friendship would never end. I'm sure I have forgot a lot of things to say or probably there are a lot of things that I have wrote which he already knows. But I only want that Pau knows my feelings are so big..."

Pau and me when we were child :)

Through thick and thin he will always be my friend... and I'll be there for him :)

IRISH ACTOR DAVID KELLY DIES AGED 82

Irish stage and screen actor David Kelly, known for films such as Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has died aged 82. (February 12th)

Dublin-born Kelly also played feckless builder Mr O'Reilly in Fawlty Towers but is perhaps best remembered for riding a motorbike naked in the comedy Waking Ned. He earned a Screen Actors' Guild nomination for the 1998 film. In a 50-year career, Kelly's roles ranged from the dramatic to the comedic.

In 2005, he received a lifetime achievement award at the Irish Film and Television Awards. The same year, he was seen by cinema audiences as Grandpa Joe Bucket in Burton's adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, opposite Johnny Depp.

Kelly's final film role was in the 2007 British fantasy film Stardust, as a deceptively nimble, high-kicking wall guard.

His friend, Ballykissangel star Niall Toibin, told the Press Association: "He was a hilarious man. He had an outlook on life that was slightly skewed and made you laugh all the time."

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I was very surprised when I read the news. Really, I've only seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie of him as an actor, but the news affected me. When you see him in the movie, he brings you hapiness and hope! He always makes me laugh. Well, in the news you can see what said his friend Niall Toibin... David had to be a real nice person. I think I will watch some of his movies!

I really love his acting, I think it seems so natural. For me, he will always be Charlie's grandpa :) I'm so thankful for it.

CAN INTERNET MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE?

First of all I have to say I've lost the checked opinion essay! I don't know where's my head... and where's my essay. So I'm going to put here my first write! Sorry.

Now, Internet is in our lives. The most part of people of developed countries can't live without it. Consequently, we all know the advantages, because if we don't know them we wouldn't use Internet... But what about the inconvenients?

On one hand, Internet lets you express your ideas and all the world can see them, so you can change a lot of minds. You can also a start a revolution! For example, 15M movement. You can meet new people, find old friends... and also find a job! As a result, it have a lot of power and it can change your life.

On the other hand, it has a lot of iconvenients too. People can find you through Internet and they can hurt you. At the same time that Internet can change your life, it can also destroy it. For example, it's great you can buy on Internet... although someone can also steal all the money of your bank account. Moreover, people can see all the things you're doing thus it's easy to find you anywhere.

In conclusion, Internet can changes our lives to a positive or negative ways. It can make the world a better place, of course. However it can make the contrary... Consequently, be careful with it!

ORAL PRESENTATION ABOUT MY RESEARCH PAPER

TRANSCRIPTION:

Hello everybody. My name is Natàlia Sellés and now I'm going to talk about my Research Paper: The Art of Tim Burton. Well, first of all I have always been fascinated by Tim Burton.  When I was a child one of my favorites was The Nightmare Before Christmas (even though it is directed by Henry Selick). As I got older, my admiration has increased a lot. So my Research Project was divided in three parts:

About Tim Burton: I talked about his biography, style, thematic, influences,....
Analyze of movies: I have analyzed some of his movies: Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Vincent, Beetlejuice and Alice in Wonderland.
Finally, I created a shortmovie in stop-motion with the most important characteristics of Burton.

For my shortmovie, first of all I elaborated the script and the storyboard. Afterwards I designed the set and the characters, and finally I could start to record. In parallel of my work, some friends helped my for the voices of the characters and my friend Víctor Luis made the soundtrack with piano.

There, you can see some photos about the filming and mounting. For the characters, I made first and wire structure and after that I modeled it with clay. For example here you can see my friend Pau Jordi recording one of the voices and me preparing one of the sets.

Well, you can see the characters of my shortmovie: Vincent's clown, Rawiora and her dog and Edward. In the shortmovie I used the names Edward, Víctor and Vincent because Tim Burton use them a lot in his movies. There you can see the monster Mr. Shawder, the dog called Tim, the Nowhere Girl, and well that's a toy I have in my home of Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas) who I decided to put in my shortmovie. And finally, Víctor.

My conclusion of the Research Paper is that the style of Tim Burton has characterized him as an artist, his own style let him to have a place in the cinematographic world and also in the story of cinema. And finally I have increased my knowledge about cinema and I have aplicated it in my shortmovie.

Well, that's my oral presentation and now I will show you a video of some scenes of my shortmovie.

SELF EVALUATION:

I think it's the first time I haven't read in an oral presentation in english. So for me it has been so important! But I have to improve my pronunciation a lot... Now I've just listened it and I have found some mistakes.  For example, I have said admirature instead of admiration, or I have used the past in a wrong way (As I get older -> As I got older). Moreover, sometimes I have said his instead of her. And I use a lot the word: WELL. All the time I'm saying: Well... okay, well....

In the end, I have said: I will show you... it should be: I'm going to show you.
So here you are. I've done a lot of mistakes, but I think I have improved a lot too. It's so difficult for me to talk in front of people, I can't express myself very well. For me, every oral presentation is a challenge...

ANECDOTE:

My voice was so sweet :)

The Neverending Story

Last night Víctor and me saw an incredible movie. I read the book but I can't believe I've never seen the movie before... It was magic :) While I was watching it I really felt like a five years old. What a wonderful moment!

In the movie appears one song that I love. The rhytm, the melody... THE LYRICS! they're amazing.  It reflects very well the imagination's world.. Now I'm going to translate them :)

Turn around, look at what you see. // Gira't, contempla el que veus
In her face, the mirror of your dreams. // En la seva cara, el mirall dels teus somnis

Make believe I'm everywhere, hidden in the lines // Adona't que estic per tot arreu, amagada en les línees

And written on the pages // I escrita a les pàgines
is the answer to a never ending story. // Està la resposta per una història interminable

Reach the stars, fly a fantasy. // Arriba a les estrelles, vola una fantasia

Dream a dream, and what you see will be. // Somia un somni, i el que veus serà
Rhymes that keep their secrets // Rimes que guarden secrets
will unfold behind the clouds  // Es revelaran darrere els núvols
and then upon the rainbow  // I allà sobre l'arc iris

is the
answer to a never ending story. // Està la resposta de la història interminable

Story // Història

Show your fear for she may fade away. // No mostris por, per què podria desaparèixer

In your hands the birth of a new day. // En les teves mans el naixement d'un nou dia

Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds // Rimes que guarden secrets darrere els núvols

There upon the rainbow is the answer to a never ending story. // I allà, sobre l'arc iris està la resposta de la història interminable

Never ending story. // Història interminable

Never ending story. //Història interminable

Never ending story. // Història interminable...

I was very suprised when I saw the protagonist. He's the same actor who played as Víctor in Tim Burton's Frankenweenie. Heeee's so cuteeeee! :3

I think all people have to see this movie. On the one hand, it's  an important movie in the cinema's history. On the other hand, it makes you be a child for a moment, and that's a feeling that all people must feel, in my opinion. I know it's an old movie and the effects aren't so well... but it doesn't matter if the film is awesome.

The story is extremely nice. It wakes up your imagination.  There's a lot of quotes that I really love. And I like this movie because it makes you think about you and the world. And for me that are the movies that really worth it.

When I was watching it, I really thought I was into the movie. It happens to me every time I see a movie which I'm fond of. What a magical feeling! For this reason I love cinema :) For the first time I can say I like more the movie than the book... uhmm... well, it can be because I read it so long time ago and maybe I didn't undersand it very well. In any case, I want to read it again :)

So... let's go to imagine!

BULLFIGHTNING IN OUR COUNTRY

I agree with the idea that every country should have is own traditions. But I definetely disagree with that if the tradition means to be cruel with animals. I share the opinion with people who think that there are some traditions which we have to keep celebreating. Every country has its history, its culture, etc. We can't forget it!

On the other hand, there are some things we have to think about. It seems to me that we have to be more responsible. Every tradition which means to be cruel with animals or to ill-trate people, should be vanished!

In conclusion, traditions sould be alive around the world, but always being responsible and trying not to injure animals or people. They don't deserve it. How would you feel being the bull, for example...?

I don't feel myself I'm Spanish. Really, I have never celebrated its traditions and I have never shared its thoughts. It's increbible how in the same country there are a lot of different people, culture and thoughts. I don't feel myself quite well living in Spain. It seems they hate us, because they make our lives more difficult than in other regions. They only want us because we are its economic motor... so sad.

GEORGE HARRISON, THE QUIET GENIUS.

Ten years ago George Harrison died because of cancer, but he's still living in our lifes. He will live forever, I know. He was a great musician and an incredible person. Now he's having a rest in his favorite place: India. I know I've never met him (sadly) but I'm very fond of him. I think he was the most peaceful into the Beatles band! I don't know why, but he's the less known of the band, or it seems so. I love them all in a different way. For me George is peace, patience and a big smile. It seems he was always relaxed and you can see it reflected in their songs.  Well, all the Beatles reflects peace and love, but George had a different character than John, for example.
Scorsese have record a movie about him. I want to see it! On Christmas I'll do :)

Now I'm going to translate this incredible song of George: While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping // Us veig a tot i veig l'amor que està dormint
While my guitar gently weeps // Mentre la meva guitarra plora dolcement

I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping // Miro el terra i veig que necessita ser escombrat

Still my guitar gently weeps // Mentre la meva guitarra continua plorant dolcement

I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love // No sé per què ningú et va dir com revelar el teu amor

I don't know how someone controlled you // No sé com algú t'ha controlat

They bought and sold you. // Els t'han comprat i t'han vengut

I look at the world and I notice it's turning // Miro al món i me n'adono que està girant

While my guitar gently weeps // Mentre la meva guitarra plora dolcement

With every mistake we must surely be learning // Amb cada error que nosaltres hem hagut d'aprendre

Still my guitar gently weeps // Mentre la meva guitarra continua plorant dolcement

I don't know how you were diverted // No sé com tu et vas desviar

You were perverted too // Vas ser pervertida també

I don't know how you were inverted // No sé com vas canviar

No one alerted you. // Ningú et va advertir.

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping // Us miro a tots i veig l'amor que està dormint

While my guitar gently weeps // Mentre la meva guitarra plora dolcement

Look at you all . . . // Us miro a tots...

Still my guitar gently weeps. // Mentre la meva guitarra continua plorant dolcement

I love it... it gives me a lot of peace. But it's a sad song too... anyway, I love his music :) He wrote a lot of songs when he was with the Beatles (not only John and Paul wrote them!) By chance all the songs that George wrote in the Beatles are of my favourites :) For example:

LOOOOOOOVE IT! What a wonderful song! It's magic... :') I think it's one of the most beautiful romantic songs of all the world!

There's too I Need You, Don't Bother Me, You Like Me Too Much, Here Comes the Sun, It's All too Much... all them incredible :) Really, I think we need musicians like them. Now there's a lot of people who believes they are musicians... but they only wants to earn money. So they don't love music as they did... it's so sad. I'm so glad to have discovered the Beatles and other bands as Queen, Elvis Presley, Bon Jovi, Sonata Arctica, or classical music... even soundtracks! It's so hard for me to see some of them are dead... I can't believe it. I'm always living in the past, and when I see the reality it's cruel. It seems like them are with me always, even when I'm not listening their songs. I have found them and I can't let them go away.

George, you don't realize how much I need you. There's something in you that like me too much!  I know all things must pass, but you won't do it. You're My own Sweet Lord and you'll live in our hearts forever!

ORAL PRESENTATION: NEW ZEALAND

We have bad luck. In the oral presentation, the camera stopped to record, and now we have had some problems with the audacity to record our voices as you've said... So sorry, but we only put the powerpoint and the transcription, because there isn't more time, and because we are stressed with all this.

POWERPOINT:

TRANSCRIPTION:

Hello everybody, we are Natàlia and Brian and we're going to talk about New Zealand, a country that we love.

In this oral presentation we'll talk about the the interesting places to visit there, and after we'll talk about the wildlife and vegetation of New Zealand.

- The interesting places to visit are:
Auckland:  It's in the North Island, and it concentrates the main economic and commercial activity in the country. It's an excellent destination for lovers of sailing and of the waters.
His most significant building is the Sky Tower, with 328 meters tall. You can see great paronamic views in the top.
It has numerous parks as Auckland Domain, located in the heart of the city. You can also taking a ferry to visit Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. where you can do a lot of activities in the nature.

Wellington: It's the capital of New Zealand. There are a lot of historics buildings, and for the nature lovers, they can visit the Johnsonville Park and the Botanic Garden, famous for his beautiful water-lily pond.
In Carter Observatory, you can see the stars and galaxies from an old telescope, it must be incredible!
There's the Civic Square, that is a social and cultural center where there are a lot of outdoor cafes.

Christchurch: Is a city that have got a great and important Anglican cathedral in the center. In the center, you can also go shopping, visit the cathedral, or enjoy the beautiful parks and gardens.
It has got a great views of the mountains, and it's a great place to relax.

Now I'm going to talk about the national parks. New Zealand has got 14 national parks, but I'll talk about the most importants.

Tongariro National Park: Is one of the most interesting places in New Zealand. Is an active volcano's park, and there are the ski resorts in the center of North Island.
The journey on foot from the park is 8 hours, and it has an incredible blue lake in the middle, and it's known because it appears in the movie The Lord of the Rings as Mórdor.

Paparoa National Park:  Is located in the northwest of the South Island. It's a cave that is open to the public, and his exploration takes hour and a half.
The rocks that are inside, have been sculptured with interesting forms by nature.

Fiordland National Park: Is the most turistic destiny. The park has got the fame of be considerated the most beautiful hiking of the world.

Finally, Matamata: In my opinion, that's very special for the fans of The Lord of the Rings, because there are the scaled version of the village of the Hobbits. The site, used and decorated for the film, became in a turistic destiny.
Hobbits houses are open to the public, but there aren't any decoration inside. Also, there are an hotel as a Hobbit's house, where you can accomodate.
There are some tourist routes of The Lord of the Rings in New Zealand, where you can see the most famous landscapes and places that appears in the movie.

After the interesting places that Brian has said, now I'm going to talk about the wild life and vegetation of New Zealand.
One characteristic of the wildlife in New Zealand is that there are animals that only lives there, so now we'll talk of them.

Kiwi: It's a bird that doesn't fly, because they almost haven't got wings. They have got big and strong legs, so they can walk and run through the vegetation without problems.
The main predators of the Kiwis are birds such as eagles and falcons, but the Kiwi can hides very well in the woods. Moreover they are nocturnal animals, so they can't be seen for the predators.
One curiosity is that their name was the inspiration for the fruit, for the hairy skin.

Tuatara: Is a reptil cold blooded that only lives in New Zealand, in the small islands around the country. They live about 100 years, and their descent is of the time of the dinosaurs, and for that they are considered a "living fossil". However, they are protected because they are at risk of extinction.
One curiosity is that Tuatara breeding have got a third eye on his forehead, between the other two. When they grow up, this eye is covered.

KakapoBecause of the absence of terrestrial predators, they lost the ability of fly, so they are the only parrot that can't fly in the world, and also the largest parrots.
They are at risk of extinction, with only ninety-one specimens in the world.

Yellow-eyed Penguin: They only live in the South Island, and they are considered one of the world's rarest penguin species.
The current status of this penguin is endangered, with a population of four thousand (4000)

One characteristic of New Zealand is the vegetation. There are a lot of plants, and for me it's interesting to talk about them.

Kauri trees: They are totally protected in New Zealand. Kauri Trees are one of the largest trees in the world, reaching over 50 meters tall, and the diameter of the trunk has 16 meters.
In the North Island, you can see Kauri Trees about thousand five hundred (1500) years old. The antecedents of the kauri appeared during the Jurassic period.

Potuhukawa Tree: It flowers from November in New Zealand.
They have got red flowers around Christmas time, and for this reason, they are known as Christmas Tree.
One curiosity is that Maoris used their nectar to do medicinal remedies.
Finally, Potuhukawa Tree lives around thousand (1000) years.

Ferns: There are a lot of forests of them in New Zealand. The more famous is Silver Fern, whose leafs are silver gray. The Silver Fern is a symbol of New Zealand, and it appears in the official shirt of the selection of Rugby, All Blacks.
There are Koru, that is another kind of Fern. It's a spiral, and it symbolizes new life, peace and growth.

Finally, the Actinidia Chinensis; It came from China, but it was introduced in New Zealand because it produces edible food, the kiwi, which all we know.

Well, and this is our oral presentation about New Zealand. There are any questions?

SELF-AVALUATION
I was nervous, as always, because I hate do oral presentations. It's horrible. But in my opinion, it was better than expected. I suppose that's because I know all these things about New Zealand, and so it was more easy for me.
